Sexual service providers must be 18 years of age or over to provide sexual services in a licensed brothel in Queensland.
Sexual service providers operating in licensed boutique brothels in Queensland are required to undergo six weekly health checks.
Many licensed brothels require service providers to undertake sexual health workshops provided by Self Heath for Queensland Workers in the Sex Industry (SQWISI). These workshops assist service providers to identify sexually transmitted diseases (STIs), educates in safe sexual practices and in maintaining safety in their interaction with clients.
Photo identification is usually required as proof of age in many Queensland boutique brothels.
Licensed boutique brothels are not permitted to advertise for individuals to provide sexual services.
